The Finishing process refers to all processes to be applied to the product as soon as it comes off the paper machine. These processes include: winding, sheeting, embossing, wrapping, and packing.
Winding is the process of converting paper from large paper machine rolls
into smaller reels of a more useable size.
The smaller reels are then either sent direct to the customer or processed
by the sheeter or the Embosser. Customers for paper in reel form include large printing companies.

Embossing
is the process of pressing a pattern into the surface of paper to enhance
the visual impact and texture of the paper. These products are typically used
for business cards, annual reports, menus, and for general high quality printing
where a distinctive look and feel is required.
Sheeting is the process of converting paper from reels into sheets.
Many of the products from the Shoalhaven Paper Mill are used by commercial
printers to make cards, calendars, annual reports etc. As such the sheets
are produced in many different sizes to suit the specific printing job.

These processes pack stacks of paper into a paper wrapper including A4. The wrapper
helps protect the paper from transport and storage damage.
The wrapper is made from paper that has been coated with a film of polyethylene.
This provides a moisture barrier and maintains the moisture content of the
paper at the required level.
