Shoalhaven Paper Mill is the only Specialty Paper Mill in Australia supplying customers with a diverse range of products for the Australian and overseas markets. To satisfy available markets, Shoalhaven Paper Mill has developed a multitude of specialty products, which include:

Registered Watermark Grades

Watermarks are designs pressed into a wet sheet of paper by a Dandy Roll at the Forming Section of the paper machine. The artwork for watermarks is done "in-house" at Shoalhaven Paper Mill.

Watermarks, once created into the sheet, cannot be removed, scanned, copied or easily duplicated. They are indelible and provide an easy method of document authentication. Watermarks are used in security papers and prestige letterheads.

Coloured Paper

Optix

OPTIX is a versatile, high-quality coloured paper, available in a wide range of bright colours, shades and tints in 80, 110,140 and 200 grams.
This range is used for books, brochures, silk-screen printing, desktop publishing, envelopes, menus, greeting cards - in fact, its usage is only limited by the users imagination.

Embossed Grade

Embossed papers are designed to add new dimensions to the paper by embossing one or both sides according to customers requirements.
The pattern is embossed into the paper by running the paper between patterned or engraved rollers.

Security Grade

Shoalhaven Paper Mill manufactures security papers for Passports, Ballot Papers (Commonwealth White, Green Pink etc) Computer Forms, Security Cheques and Blacklight Cheques.

Special features relating to a security grade are:

• Watermark

• Inclusions – (visible or invisible fibres).

• Sensitised dyes that flash up when exposed to various chemicals.

Stephen (Rocks)

Developed in consultation with Australian Graphic Designers, Stephen™ is an uncoated, design-inspired paper, that feels like "paper". It integrates freshness of colour, evokes the senses, is thoughtful to budget constraints, and delivers sound environmental credentials. Stephen™ offers a creative, practical and economical solution to any graphic design and printed job.

Saxton

Made with care, Saxton is a proven performer through all printing applications especially laser and inkjet printers. It is engineered to deliver consistent quality at an economical price. Its unique formation makes it suitable for premium print applications using traditional and digital printing technology.
